Do not try to over take when road ahead is not visible. Slow down, horn and pass carefully when cross roads are ahead. Near signal lights stick to your lane. Keep the free left turn clear. Never cross the yellow line. While turning, slow down and give signals before 100 feet. Don’t overload your vehicle. Carry only prescribed numbers. Never talk over mobile/cellular phones while driving.

Altering a Drivers License • May result in: • Loss of driving privilege • Fine up to $1,000 • Up to 6 months in jail

Getting a driver license illegally • May result in: • Fine up to $200 to $500 • Jail of 30-90 days

Getting your basic license • Good for 4 years • Minimum age 18 (permit 16) • Permit fee $10 • License fee $24 • Test Required • Knowledge • Vision • Road

6 Point ID Verification • At least one primary document • At least one secondary document • At least six points of ID • Proof of address

Graduated Driver License • Multi-stage licensing system • Gradually introduce privileges • Extends practice time • Minimum age of 18 for unrestricted license • Restrictions must be followed • Failure to do so may result in $100 fine or license suspension

GDL Driver Exemptions • For the hour rule for permit or provisional drivers: • Proof of a need to drive for employment or religion • Note: if student driver commits a traffic offense, driver and supervisor are responsible • Provisional up grade to basic (12 months)
