  1. Class Presentations---YES or NO??? : r/Teachers

If a student has an IEP/504 that mentions presentations I work with the school psych and student to make it work. Sometimes it's before school with just the two of us. Soemtimes they can choose the audience. Partner presentations are a great thing too. There is no deduction for doing so as that would be penalizing them for disability.

  2. I have to deliver a presentation tomorrow and i'm nervous as fuck.

Breath slowly before the presentation: take four seconds to inhale, hold for four seconds, take four seconds to exhale, hold for four seconds. Repeat this to keep your brain from stepping on the gas pedal. Begin your presentation by expressing your feelings: "This is hard for me. I get extremely nervous when I give a presentation.

  3. Doing presentations in class should not be forced : r ...

It sounds to me like you could, in fact, hold a presentation, although you hated the experience due to a medical condition. That means you passed the exam, right? I would hate it if school didn't encourage you to do the presentation and just put an F on you because of your medical condition. That would be sad, to say the least.

  4. What is your worst school presentation story?

In elementary school we had to give a presentation on an ancient civilization. We had this "enrichment" program which I was in. My teacher added an extra component to the project for the enrichment kids where we had to recreate an ancient artifact from said civilization as well as do our presentation.

Yep! This, OP. If you listen to nothing else, this. No one cares what you say, and that's why they don't care what the presentation is on. What matters to people is what you make them feel, and that's a lot more than the content of your words.. So, a few helpful tips: if you're using PowerPoint, POWERPOINT IS NOT A NOTE TOOL ITS A PRESENTATION AID TOOL.

  6. Giving presentations was the absolute best thing about school ...

Giving presentations: My whole school life: "hahaha, you might be good at presentations, but that wont help you in real life. MAybe you`ll get good grades now, but that wont help you." My university life: "You cant put too much focus on your presentation skills. yes, you get good grades now, but in jobs later, it wont matter anymore."

  7. What was the "please stop" school presentation that you witnessed

Not a literal presentation really, but we had an assembly in high school where the students that helped plan homecoming would announce the nominations for homecoming court. It always had a cute little theme and like a short skit involved. Well at one point the audio they were using as the cue for the skit failed.

  8. It feels ILLEGAL to know this trick to get out of a presentation

You may be able to get out of a school presentation if you have a documented disability that is protected by Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the presentation is not an integral part of the course. Schools and colleges are required to provide reasonable accommodations to students with recognized disabilities, and you ...

  10. How often do you give speeches/presentations in med school?

In the first year we had to give a couple of presentations in front of the whole class, then there were a few small group activities where we would have to present something in a group of 4-5 people, which was a bit more laid back. Now in the second year we have patient presentations where we present individually to a small group (8 people).
