Course abstract

In order to improve the research skills of Indian medical postgraduate (PG) students and faculty, the Board of Governors (BoG) in supersession of Medical Council of India (MCI) has recommended a uniform research methodology course across the country. The online course, "Basic Course in Biomedical Research", will be offered by ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR-NIE), Chennai (www.nie.gov.in). The course will explain fundamental concepts in research methodology. The course includes 23 topics covering conceptualization of a research study, epidemiological and bio-statistical considerations in designing a research study, planning and conducting a research study, writing a research protocol and publication ethics. The learning materials will include video lectures, presentation slides, reading materials and assignments.

BCBR Registration 2024 Basic Course in Biomedical Research Registration Last Date

BCBR Registration 2024 Basic Course in Biomedical Research Cycle 6 7 8 9 10 Registration Last Date . National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning(NPTEL) and Swayam along with ICMR-NIE will be conducting the BCBR Examination to all the candidates who have completed 23 assignments of the course with a minimum of 50% of marks. Students who have such eligibility can apply for the BCBR Examination of February, July, August, September, December 2024.

Candidates can therefore complete the Swayam BCBR Cyle 6 7 8 9 10 Registration Before Last Date. According to the qualification a candidate completed the course has, they are allowed for this Basic Course in Biomedical Research Exam Registration.

For the upcoming BCBR Cycle the last date for Registration is 23rd January 2024. So students to whom the eligibility is there need to pay the fees and submit the application form for the Online examination.

This BCBR Proctored Examination will be conducted throughout the country in various cities. Candidates need to choose their respective location while registering for the test. Without registration or not having completed all the assignments with minimum marks a person is not allowed to the registration process. So make sure to do this and then complete the registration to attend the written test.

From the Url https://examform.nptel.ac.in/2024_02/exam_form/dashboard the registration process can be made. But before that, candidates need to log in to the NPTEL website with the registered Username and Password.

As using a mobile phone for registration could cause mistakes, It is recommended by the organization to use a Desktop or Laptop for the registration process. (Google Chrome/Microsoft/Mozilla browsers will be the supporting the application while registration.

Basic information on self-paced Basic Course in Biomedical Research

Course process Online Basic course in Biomedical Research is switching to a new format of self –paced structure from 20 April 2022 which is flexible and convenient. Salient features of self-paced course • Enrollment will open throughout the year  • No deadline for enrolment into the course • No deadline for submission of assignments • Participants can learn on their own pace and schedule  • Once you secure the cut off scores in assignments (50% in every assignment for 23 lectures), candidates will become eligible for exam registration.  • Candidates can then register for the proctored exam in next available date  Course Assignments Assignments for lectures 1 to 23 are now available for your access. There are no assignments for Lecture 24: Manuscript Writing and Lecture 25: Grant Proposal Writing 1. The assignments consist of multiple choice questions (MCQ) 2. Each topic has 10 MCQs 3. Each topic has 10 MCQs 4. Each MCQ carries one mark 5. There is no negative marking Qualifying criteria to register for the proctored exam • Out of 25 lectures, the first 23 lectures will have online assignments consisting of 10 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) each.  • A minimum score of 50% in every assignment i s required to register for the final proctored exam.  • You may submit the assignments any number of times until you get the minimum eligibility score of 50% in every assignment by ‘Retake test’.          Check the video on how to access and submit the assignments.  • Assignment scores are considered only to get the qualification to register for the proctored exams.  • Getting a minimum score of 50% in assignments will not assure to get the pass certificate and it will not be taken into account for the scores in the proctored exam.  Registration process for the Proctored Exam • When a participant successfully secures the minimum score of 50% in every assignment for 23 lectures, the exam registration link for the next available date will be provided .  • To register for examination, the participant will have to fill-up an online form and pay the examination fees of Rs.1000 online. The city-wise list of examination centres  will be made available at the time of registration.  Final Pass Certification Participants who successfully secure a score of 50% or above in the final proctored exam will be awarded an e-verifiable course completion certificate.
